Negotiations

I have to say I am quite impressed with Matt's negotiating skills. I am finding more and more when I request something from him, he often replies with a request of his own or some sort of alteration of the request I am making. I am quite a delighted with his display of independence and intelligence and I don't mind our little negotiation sessions they often go a bit like this...
Me- "Matt after we brush your teeth, I have to give you your eye care and then we can go downstairs and get breakfast"
Matt- "No mom, you can get me chocolate milk and then I will brush my teeth"
Me- "Okay, you can have the chocolate milk and then we can brush your teeth and get your eye care done"
Matt- "Not eye care mom, you can give me eye care at night. Okay?"
Me- "Lets do one thing at a time."

Most of our negotiations seem to involve chocolate milk.....
