Today was not as sunny as most days this week therefore Matt could spend some much needed outside time. There was little sunshine but also a cool breeze, enough for much needed yard-work. Have you ever tried explaining to a three year old that they can help with the yard-work, but pushing the mower or using the edger is just not an option? Well to compromise we did allow him to run through the hose water. That seemed sufficient enough. By late afternoon, he was exhausted enough to nap... This was the first daytime nap in two weeks and because it has been so long since he has napped, I enjoyed watching him sleep.
By the time this evening came upon us he was right back to defiance around getting his eye-drops...
"I am not getting my eye care, I don't need it mom!" This time I just pulled him close gave him a kiss and said "I know Matt, but mom needs you to." (thinking the warm fuzzy approach might work) "No you don't mom!" he snapped back. I threw my hands up and said "fine." About fifteen minutes later, I turned to him and asked "Are you ready for eye-care yet?"... He covered his eyes and made an exaggerated sigh and said "Alright mom"... Will this work every night? I seriously doubt it but it worked tonight....
